Creative Kids Corner summer camps have been building treasured memories since 1998.
Specializing in arts enrichment programming for the developing child, CKC makes every summer a transforming experience. We believe that fostering an appreciation for the arts at a young age will help children to develop a strong sense of self, learn to more fully appreciate others and make sense of the role they play within this beautiful world! Children are encouraged to be creative and independent as well as active participants in large group activities.
So what does a typical CKC summer camp day look like?
Each day includes a rich variety of age appropriate musical activities, singing and dancing to numerous musical genres, dramatic play, art multi-media exploration, culinary adventures, languages and literature that will excite all the senses. At CKC Camps your child will be given opportunities to challenge their thinking and motor skills as we play outdoor games, gym games and of course, we make it all FUN! Our home away from home atmosphere nurtures a feeling of warmth and trust and each camper is given the personal attention that they genuinely deserve.
CKC Summer Camp Registration
Registration is open to all families at the release of Summer Camp information in January. Priority is first given to returning campers and thereafter spaces are filled on a first come first serve basis. We have an excellent record of grouping and accommodating friend requests. Waiting lists are carefully managed, with placement given in the order to which they are received.
*We encourage you to join our database to receive the most recent information regarding January to June specialty classes and summer camp updates. Creativity without communication is like a smile in the dark...it’s there but no-one can appreciate it. We look forward to hearing from you and your friends!
Camp Registrations are dated and numbered upon receipt. A $200 check only deposit is required for each camper to maintain their position. Deposit checks should be received no more than two weeks from the date of your registration submission to not jeopardize your position.
Checks are made payable to:
Creative Kids Corner
P.O. BOX # 8032
Wilmette, IL 60091
Final Payment Balance is due April 15th unless an individual payment plan has been arranged. Checks that are returned from the bank for any reason will incur an additional $25.00 charge. Modifications can be made to your child’s summer plan with extension add ons at any time when space permits, however full payment must be made before attending.
The $200 camp deposit is refundable if the request is made in writing by April 1st. A $75 processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Cancellations made after April 1st and before the first day of camp forfeit the $200 deposit.
*There will be no camps attending on Monday, July 4th.
Creative Kids Corner realizes that standards for excellence in programming are only as good as the people delivering them. All camp programs are well staffed with caring professional educators, talented and experienced adult professionals and counselors. Group counselors consist of both college and high school students who are VERY carefully chosen for their leadership skills, enthusiasm and experience in working with children. An average camp staff to child ratio is 1:6. CKC prides itself on having many returning staff members year after year. Director Linda supervises each camp daily and will work closely with you and your child’s camp leaders to make certain that your child’s experience is the best that it can be.
Junior Counselors (Age 10-15) many of whom grew up in the CKC program, complete our learning circle and belief that children should be empowered at all ages. All counselors (Lead and Jr) are well trained in group management, establishing a safe, comfortable play environment and play an active role in motivating and assisting to the needs of your child. Their primary role is to support the lead teacher by demonstrating their belief in what we all want for your children...an innovative and lively summer day!

Creative Music & Arts is our largest and most popular camp with three age appropriate groups
(Age 2.6mos - 3.6mos) (Age 3-5) (Age 4-7) rotate daily between outside playtime, music & art. What’s particularly nice about a CKC camp experience is that siblings can attend together, spending time with each other at both the beginning and ending free play segment, as well as participate on a level specifically suited to their needs in small group rotations. (And if you have a wee little one in your home, adult toddler music classes will be scheduled conveniently at drop-off or pick-up times. Share with us your interest for custom scheduling before we post in early spring! We want you to think of CKC as an ideal one stop summer home.)
Weekly themes guide, engage and educate us all! Creative and thoughtful activities revolve around these building blocks, promising a rich, multi-disciplinary playground for learning. Award winning children’s literature, drama skits and guest visitors may also accentuate the experience. PEACE has been a favorite theme over the years and in Summer 2013, we adopted this as a signature CKC theme to be included each year. Your child will know and be inspired by the BEATLES!
In the spirit of summer, outdoor play is largely open-ended. Options include sand and water play, chalk and ball play, bike riding, dirt digging, playground enjoyment and a very large and open green space for just enough group games to encourage social development. On rainy or excessively hot days the campers enthusiastically play in the gym or in an air conditioned classroom. Closure at the end of the day includes a healthy snack, beverage and warm good bye’s. We’re very aware that your child may not always share their daily experiences with you which is why a weekly newsletter highlighting the weeks activities is sent via email.
Our youngest group Lil Sprouts (Age 2.6 - 3.6) is often a first time experience for both the child and parent. This camp is meant for children who are ready for separation. By this we mean that they are children who exhibit the signs of wanting to be autonomous, seeking new adventures and playmates. CKC has many stories of successful separations. By working closely with you to better understand your child, we become partners in this process.
Children are not required to be potty trained and if appropriate can attend Friday as well.

Children are encouraged to be physically active, curious and inventive, kindhearted and friendly. Did we forget to mention silly? The days activities are never dull or boring.
